I recently pulled into the IHOP parking lot across the street from John Wayne Airport to use the rest room and I saw a Uber driver sitting in his car with the engine running as he was waiting for a ride request from the airport.
I introduced myself and we talked for a while about business while all the time his engine was running with the air conditioner keeping him cool.
I asked him how he liked his BMW for driving TNC and he said that he hated it. The dealer told him he would get 29 MPG but now it seems that he is only getting 19 MPG.
I had to wonder if he will ever catch on that you have to shut off the motor to improve mileage.
